Σύμφωνα με τον Αμερικανό Πρόεδρο, έδωσε εντολή στο Πεντάγωνο να αφήσει «100 γιάρδες» γύρω από «οτιδήποτε έχει σχέση με το πετρέλαιο» και ότι η αμερικανική επίθεση «δεν πλησίασε καν».
